European Federation of Agricultural Exhibition and Show Organisers (EURASCO) becomes latest associate member of the European Network of Agricultural Journalists (ENAJ)

The European Network of Agricultural Journalists is pleased to announce that the European Federation of Agricultural Exhibition and Show Organisers (EURASCO) has become the latest associate member of the ENAJ. EURASCO is a not for profit organisation with the aim of promoting European agricultural exhibitions, shows and fairs through the exchange of information, ideas and experience, reciprocal advice, liaison and mutual assistance.

The association has 29 members from 21 countries (see more info at www.eurasco.org). EURASCO joins other European professional umbrella organizations like FEFAC, Fertilizers Europe, COPA-COGECA, FEFANA, CEMA & EuropaBio as an ENAJ associated member. The ENAJ is an umbrella organisation of twenty two European agricultural journalist guilds. Established in 2011, the ENAJ in association with members organizes seminars, low budget trips and events relating to farming and food production across the EU.

“We are delighted that EURASCO has taken up our invitation to become an associate member of the ENAJ. This allows us to continue our work of helping agricultural journalists from our member guilds with opportunities to gather stories of interest to their audience relating to farming and agriculture across Europe. It also provides us with the support needed to continue to build the network”

, said ENAJ chairman Jef Verhaeren.

Giovanni Colombo, Secretary General of EURASCO said,

“We are very pleased about this agreement.  The objective of EURASCO is to improve and promote European agricultural exhibitions, fairs and shows through the exchange of information, ideas and experience, reciprocal advice, liaison and mutual assistance. It may act with outside organizations on behalf of EURASCO members. We look forward to working with the ENAJ and its members”.

The ENAJ in association with the Latvian Ministry for Agriculture will host forty four journalists at the annual informal council of agricultural ministers meeting in Riga, Latvia in June. This provides journalists with an opportunity to learn more about Latvian agriculture while also meeting EU farm ministers and the EU agricultural commissioner Phil Hogan in an informal setting. It is an example of the sort of event which ENAJ organizes on behalf of its members. Other low budget trips to member countries have also been organized for 2015.
